Instrumentation: Band Method
Volume 2 continues the emphasis from Volume 1 on rhythms and pitches. However, dynamics, tempi and articulations become more important as compound meter is introduced along with concepts including key changes, greater emphasis on instrumental timbres and blending, and more independent instrumental parts with both homophonic and polyphonic textures. Instrumental parts added from Volume 1 include third clarinet and trumpet parts, a second horn part and a second percussion part. |
